Applications

These drum-reeling rubber-sheathed flexible cables are used for applications involving frequent unreeling and reeling and tensile and/or torsional loads at the same time, and forced movement of the cable for hoisting equipment, transportation and conveyor systems with high mechanical loads.
These cables are used for high dynamic loads as in cable tracks and carriers, cable chains, reeling in electrical hydraulics operations, solenoid actuators as well as for mobile cable carriers.
These cables are used in dry and wet rooms as well as for outdoor applications, in water, at building sites, in commercial and agricultural operations.

Characteristic features

•  Reeling and traversing speeds max. 120 m/min.
•  Acceleration 0.4 m/s2
•  Suitable for protection class II
•  Continuous tensile load of the conductor max. 20 N/ mm2 , with respect to the total copper cross section of the outer layer conductors.
•  Use as drag and trailing cables in energy management chains.

Durability

•  Resistant to oil, petrol, UV radiation, ozone, oxygen
•  Other chemical resistance properties-refer also to the Table of Technical Guidelines.



Cable design

Construction designed according to DIN VDE 0250 part 814
Conductor : Cu wires, tinned, flexible
Construction of the conductor: according to VDE 0295 Class 5 and IEC 228 Class 5
Insulation layer : one layer of textile or suitable material permitted over the conductor
Insulation : core insulation of rubber, compound type GI1 according to VDE 0207 part 20
Core identification : single colour according to VDE 0293, or black with imprinted numbers
Protective earth conductor : green-yellow protective earth conductor in the outer layer
Type of lay-up*) : lay-up of cores in layers, without straight centre core
Pitch : maximum 8 x diameter of the lay-up
Inner sheath : as cable filler of rubber, compound type 5GM2
Torsion Protection: open braiding over the laid-up cores between inner and outer sheath, or in the outer sheath; opposing textile or plastic thread braiding or a meshed fabric
Sheath with : sheath material of rubber, polychloroprene cable filling base (neoprene), compound type 5GM2 according to VDE 0207 part 21
Sheath colour : black

* ) A rubber joint is permissible.
The laid-up layers may be separated by tape, braiding r intermediate sheath. Braid may be used for core covering
