PVC-insulated flat flexible cable according to VDE 0281 |
| |
|
|
|

|
 |
Applications |
These PVC-insulated flat flexible cables
are used for installation as power
and control cables for cable tracks
and carriers, transport systems, tool
machinery, in particular for hoisting
equipment, lifts, crane and container
bridges and in all circumstances in
which the cable is subjected to severe
bending and continuous movement in
one plane only. These flat flexible
cables are suitable for installation
in dry, moist and wet rooms. These
cables are not suitable for outdoor
applications or ambient air temperatures
below 0°C or
above + 40°C.
Characteristic features
The reduced
dimension means that these flat flexible
cables are space-saving compared
to round flexible cables.
Considerably
smaller bending radius than for round
flexible cables.
Multiple
bundling of flat flexible cables
possible.
A uniform
loop is formed in the axial direction
such that no excess lay-up or twisting
of the cores can occur.
Note
Free-hanging lengths of 35 m or traversing speed of 1.6 m/s should
not be exceeded for the above-mentioned machinery.
The cables must
be rolled up and suspended such that
no twisting or kinks occur.
The
cables should be freely suspended,
secured at one end, in the lift shaft
for several days before being installed.
There
should be no sharp edges in the lift
shaft behind the moved cables such
as supports between front and rear
side of multiple-lift shafts which
could damage the cables.
Durability
Chemical resistance properties of PVC refer also to the Table
of Technical Guidelines.
