 |
Applications |
Copper-screened OPVC control cables
are used as power, control and connection
cables for tooling machinery, control
units, production lines, transportation
equipment, conveyor and assembly
lines, control desks as well as in
plant construction, for office machines
and in heating, air conditioning
and ventilation systems where interference-free
signal and data transmission must
be assured.
These cables are ideal for medium
loads for permanent installation
and flexible applications for free
movement, without tensile load and
without forced movement. These cables
are suitable for installation in
dry and moist rooms, not however
for outdoor or underground installation.
The overall braided screen consisting
of tinned copper wires provides protection
against high-frequency interference
and ensures an interference-free
transmission.
ÖPVC-JZ-CY cables are installed
in particular in the vicinity of
radio and power installations.
All two-core cables are without
the green-yellow protective earth
conductor (OZ version). A green-yellow
protective earth conductor is included
in the outer layer of all cables
of 3 or more cores (JZ version).
The other cores are black with sequential
numbering imprinted in white, commencing
with no. 1 at the centre and counting
out-wards. The print consists of
numerals repeated throughout the
length of the core. Each designation
consists of a line underlining this
number thus designating the direction
of reading and preventing confusion
between individual conductors. The
imprint is repeated approximately
every 20 mm (max. 50 mm according
to VDE 0293) to assure visible identification
even for short lengths of stripped
sheath.
Characteristic features
Installation and identification
of individual conductors made easier
by the imprint of sequential numbering.
First-class mechanical properties and high flexibility of the cable are optimized
by the design and construction using special PVC compounds for conductor insulation
and sheath.
The inner sheath serves as additional mechanical protection and increases the
robustness of the cable.
Durability
The PVC sheath is largely resistant to oils (depending on the type of oil),
excluding VDE 0472 part 803.
Chemical resistance for PVC refer also to the Table of Technical Guidelines.
